 Hidden Treasures of Science & History in the Lower Hudson Valley: Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory & Piermont Pier gave institute participants to learn about L-DEO’s education resources and meet scientists who are part of Columbia University’s Earth Institute.

  • Lamont-Doherty field trip and professional development opportunities plus resources.
  • Open house, Oct. 7, 10-4: tour a lab, participate in hands-on earth science demonstrations, and learn from world-renowned researchers.
  • Earth2Class (Earth to Class) for K-12 science/math/technology teachers, students, the public, and geoscientists. Tentative dates:  Sept. 16, Oct. 14, Nov. 18, Dec. 9, Jan. 13, Feb. 10, Mar. 10, Ap. 14, & May 5.

Historic Voyage of Discovery: Hudson River Sloop Clearwater’s Sailing Classroom and Tideline Programs. This field experience designed to introduce the full range of Clearwater’s education programs had to be cancelled, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get the lowdown.
