|Visit Hyde Park!|
THE BUS COULD BE ON US.
This award is offered by the Roosevelt-Vanderbilt National Historic Sites and the FDR Presidential Library & Museum. It is good for transportation to one or more of these -- Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site, Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library & Museum, Home of FDR National Historic Site, FDRís retreat Top Cottage, and Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site.
Hyde Park has a lot to offer all grades and subject areas (view or download a list of programs), but as you know all the history, culture, and nature in the world donít do students or teachers much good if they can't get here.
Thatís why the National Park Service and the FDR Presidential Library have set aside funds to help cover transportation costs for a limited number of students to visit Hyde Park. Remember -- there is no admission fee for school groups visiting national parks and historic sites.

Eligibility. K-12 and community college educators in public and private schools may apply for regular, summer, or after-school programs. Trips should be related to core curriculum or programs. Teachers in the same school or district may apply together. We aim to distribute funds equitably throughout the region considering per student and total costs and keeping in mind that needs and resources vary.
Please note: teachers who receive a grant may apply the following year, but will be expected to raise at least part of the cost from another source. They will not be eligible a third year.
No matches are required, but we encourage you to use these awards to extend or leverage other opportunities. Among the other groups offering field trip grants are DonorsChoose, Target, and community foundations, such as the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley serving Dutchess, Putnam, and Ulster Counties.
How and when to apply. E-mail a completed form; no other material is needed. (Although this form references the 2012-13 school year, you may use it.)
Applications will be accepted until funds are exhausted and will be acknowledged via e-mail by Teaching the Hudson Valley on behalf of the Park Service and the Library.Applicants will typically receive an answer in two to three weeks; the response will include instructions for scheduling your visit.
