Join Cary Institute education staff (among the most popular presenters year after year at THV's summer institute) for a free workshop, Hudson River Food Webs. _____________________________

Rooted in the Cary Institute's Changing Hudson Project, the workshop will highlight recent research on the zebra mussel invasion in the Hudson River and results for its ecosystem.
Presenters will share new evidence from Cary Institute scientists, along with ready-to-use lessons appropriate for upper elementary through high school students.
During the workshop participants will:
- Learn about complex food webs in the Hudson River
- Investigate changes caused by the zebra mussel invasion
- Learn what current research reveals about how the food web is responding today
- Receive a unit of prepared lessons to explore this topic in your classroom
Register online through My Learning Plan by Monday, November 14. No walk-ins, please.
Three in-service hours. Best for those teaching grades 5-12. Standards to be covered:
- Demonstrate content knowledge
- Engage with community to support high expectations
- Set high expectations/challenging learning
- Use a variety of approaches to meet student needs
- Use curricular resources to achieve student goals
Light snacks will be provided.
