THV provides you with a number of ways to find lesson plans in our online library.

SEARCH BY SINGLE OR MULTIPLE KEYWORD, GRADE, and/or SUBJECT AREA

You can search more than one Keyword at a time. You can search more than one Grade at a time. And you can search more than one Subject Area at time.

Keyword Hint: Separate Keywords with a comma for results that match ANY word you typed. Link Keywords with a plus sign if you only want results that include all words typed. Enclose phrases you want to search for with quotes.

Example Keywords: "migration, fish"
Example Grades: "Grade 1" and "Grade 2"
Example Subject Areas: "Arts" and "English/Language Arts"

Check more than one Grade at a time and the results will match ANY of those grades. Check more than one Subject Area at a time and the results will match ANY of those subject areas.

Example: "Migration, fish" will pull all lesson plans with the word "migration" AND all lesson plans with the word "fish." "Migration + fish" will yield lessons with both words.
Example: "Grade 1" and "Grade 2" will pull all lesson plans with "Grade 1" AND all lesson plans with "Grade 2."
Example: "Math" and "Science" will pull all lesson plans with "Math" AND all lesson plans with "Science."

SEARCH ONE AT A TIME: NYS CURRICULUM STANDARD, DESTINATION, COUNTY, ZIP CODE

You can search only one Curriculum Standard at a time. You can search only one Destination at a time. You can search only one County at a time. You can search only one Zip Code at a time.

Example NYS Curriculum Standard: MST1
Example Destination: Bear Mountain State Park
Example County: Rockland
Example Zip Code: 12572

MIX AND MATCH

Customize your search by using more than one search criterion at a time.

Example (Grade + Subject): Search for lessons in Grades 6, 7, 8, and in the Subjects of Math and Arts. The results returned are all lessons that are in grades 6, 7 OR 8, AND that have been assigned to either Math OR Art. (All lessons with grades 6, 7 OR 8 are queried. Then all lessons with subjects Math OR Arts are queried. Then the two lists are combined, and any lessons found in either query are displayed.)

Example (County + Grade + Curriculum Standard): Choose Westchester County, check Grade 4, and check SST1 NYS Curriculum Standard. The results will be ALL lessons in Westchester County, that are BOTH assigned to Grade 4 AND to the SST1 Standard. (All lessons with Westchester are queried. Then all lessons with Grade 4 are queried. Then all lessons with SST1 are queried. Then the three lists are compared, and any lessons found in all three queries are displayed.)

Example (Keyword + Zip Code + Subject): Type the keyword "Lighthouse," the Zip Code "10019," and check the subject "Math." The result will be all lessons in Zip Code 10019 with the word "Lighthouse" AND assigned to the subject Math. (All lessons with "Lighthouse" are queried. Then all lessons with Zip Code 10019 are queried. Then all lessons in Math are queried. The three lists are compared, and any lessons found in all three queries are displayed.)

Example (Grade + Zip Code): Check Grades 4 and 5 and select Ulster County. The results will be all lessons in Ulster County that are assigned to Grade 4. (All lessons within Ulster County are queried. Then all lessons assigned to Grade 4 are queried. The two lists are compared, and any lessons found in both queries are displayed.)
