There are two ways to add a lesson plan or activity. Most people seem to find it easiest to enter information directly online using the pop up tips that appear when you run the cursor over an item. You can also download a Word version of the lesson template (96.00 Kb), complete it off offline, and then cut and paste your work online. Either way, consider printing a copy of the form; it includes instructions you can refer to as you enter your work.
There's no need to finish entering your material in one session. Hit "save and exit" at the bottom of the page and your work will be saved to your "My THV." Return, log on, click "My THV," and finish at any time.
You need not complete every part of the template, but please provide all information other educators will need to use or adapt the lesson. Be sure to attach any pictures, activity sheets, or other materials you reference. Or, at minimum, provide complete citations, including web links. Remember, the more information you include, the more likely it is that others will find and use your work.

Special notes
Unit title, step 1
Please do not add your lessons to an existing unit unless you are working with that unit's original authors. In that case, select the unit title from the drop down list.
If adding the first lesson in a unit, enter a “new” unit title; be sure to agree on the title with others who may enter lessons in that unit. If adding a free-standing lesson, the unit and lesson title may be the same.
Assessment, step 3
In this section you are asked to attach any criteria or tools you use. If rubrics or other material exist as separate documents, you may simply name the item and attach it in step six rather than entering all the information here.
Destination, step 4
If your plan relates to one or more Hudson Valley sites, please complete this section, even if students didn't actually visit. Start by looking through the drop down list for your site(s); keep in mind that some places have more than one name, e.g., Locust Grove is also known as the Home of Samuel Morse. If your site(s) is listed all you have to do is check the appropriate boxes.
If your destination is not on the list, click "add a new destination" and provide all requested information. Please also take time to complete the "chaperon" and "successful field experience" questions in this section. This information is very useful for users. Because destination staff will change, please be sure to include job titles.
